The Public Option…

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announced today hey will continue to push the public option as being part of the health care reform bill. He adds that it would include an option for states to opt out of the program.

With 30 state governors belonging to the Democratic Governors Association, the decision to opt out could turn the map of the U.S. into the familiar red-blue divide. However, Reid says states will have until 2014 to opt out of the national program he’s proposing…which means Wisconsin’s new governor may have a decision to make.
